In a recent interview Candice Puthawala, the founder of Beauty Bar Chocolate shared about a collaboration between Beauty Bar Chocolate and The Little Market. Both brands are California based, and the bag which features the saying ‘Life Is Short, Eat Chocolate and Buy Flowers’ is fair trade and each purchase empowers artisans at CORR – The Jute Works (located in Bangladesh) and Homeboy Industries who do the screen printing on each of the bags.
You recently collaborated with The Little Market to create a Market Bag. Tell me a little bit about the collaboration and what you enjoyed the most about working with The Little Market.
I had bought a bag from them, and I’m obsessed with The Little Market and I love that they are Fair Trade and they work with women in different villages. I wanted to make a market bag and I wanted to have a product with some meaning behind it. So I gave them the quote for the bag and they had Homeboy Industries screen print it. It’s made well, fair trade and they did a great job with it. I’m also hoping to eventually sell my chocolates through their online shop in future.
The bag is perfect for taking to the market, or for running errands around the city. I always like to keep a few of the Beauty Bar Chocolates on hand, and having a bar tucked away in the bag is an absolute must for any day where you’re going to be running around.
The Beauty Bar Chocolate X The Little Market Bag also makes a wonderful gift, and you can fill it with all sorts of goodies from fresh flowers (they always have the most amazing selection at our favorite Trader Joe’s location over on Metropolitan Ave) and you can purchase the Beauty Bar Chocolate Bars both online from Candice’s shop and at various retailers. There are currently two chocolate bars options to choose from, but Candice has a third bar releasing later this month and hint hint… it’s minty!

The bag is available elusively on the Beauty Bar Chocolate website. This post is not sponsored, I just love both Beauty Bar Chocolate and supporting businesses that empower women.
