Sometimes it’s nice to dress up, even if you’re only going out of the house for a doctor’s appointment and to grab a few things from the grocery store. I’ve been planning to wear this particular outfit for weeks, and this past weekend with our yearly optometrist visits all booked, I finally had the perfect opportunity.
I’m absolutely obsessed with this Trumpet Sleeve Top by CeCe (Nordstrom). The sleeves and mini ruffles at the neck are the perfect added touch of femininity and the chiffon fabric is an absolute dream on a warm day. I paired with the white linen pants that I found at JCrew Factory earlier in the season, my brand new tortoise patent slingbacks from Sarah Flint, and added a pop of pink with the Midi Loren Tote in Blush from Alexandra de Curtis.
With a neutral look like this one, it’s always a good idea to add some statement jewelry and accessories that will add a pop of color or pattern to your ensemble.
While we were taking these photos we happened to see this Hummingbird moth that was fluttering from flower to flower. It was moving so quickly that it was hard to capture it with our camera before it switched to the next flower for a delicious nectar treat. Since we love hummingbirds and have a few that we often see flying by when we go out to water our plants in the evenings, it was interesting to see just how similar the hummingbird moth is to our beloved hummingbirds (albeit it’s even smaller which is hard to imagine!)
About the Emma Sling
I first saw this shoe styled by one of my favorite fellow bloggers, Grace Atwood of The Stripe and I just love it in the Tortoise Patent. It adds that extra bit of fun to any look whether you’re wearing a neutral, pairing it with jeans and a crisp white shirt. The shoe features a hidden elastic in the strap and extra padding for comfort along with a 2-inch heel to give you a little height. (When you’re 5’3” every little bit of extra height helps!)
Sizing
I bought the shoe in my usual size 36EU/6US and after putting shoe stretchers in the toe to give my toes just a little extra room, these shoes fit perfectly. (For reference I’m a medium width pretty much everywhere except for my heel which is very narrow.)
If you have specific questions about fit, I recommend scheduling a virtual styling appointment with a stylist for the best fit for you.

Note: This top is only available in a few sizes now in black, but I love this lace sleeve crepe blouse also from CeCe.
