Our mission at Toccare is to provide an experience to nourish the body and the mind.
This past Saturday, my sister treated us to our first facials. Now that we’re in our 30’s it more important than ever to make sure that we’re taking better care of our skin to not only keep it looking healthy, but to keep it looking as line free and youthful for as long as we possibly can.
Ever since I first started hearing about Toccare on Instagram and following along with their feed/stories I knew I wanted to have my first facial at Toccare (and now that we’ve been there I want to have all my future facials there too!) From the moment you walk into their charming Providence Rd. location, you feel instantly relaxed. From the decor to the relaxing music, Toccare is definitely the perfect place for a girls spa day.
After filling out the initial questionnaire, you’re shown back to the relaxing alcove where you can enjoy the sunshine while propped up against comfy pillows.
What to expect from your facial experience…
When our skin specialist Meshelle showed us to the room for my facial we talked about skin concerns (for me it’s dry skin and issues with the pores in my t-zone) and about my typical skincare routine/products etc.
Next Meshelle had a look at my skin under the light to see what she was working with and the areas that needed the most work.
The essential parts of a facial include…
Cleansing the skin
Exfoliating to get any left over ‘gunk’ out of your pores
Extraction to remove any blackheads etc
Hydration
In addition to the essentials above, both your face, neck and shoulders will get the most amazing massage you’ve ever experienced. It was truly a wonderful experience and I 100% believe in getting regular facials for both your skin’s health and to de-stress.
Meshelle Harris was the skin specialist for my first facial and I can’t recommend her enough. She was amazing!
Meshelle comes to Toccare with 8 years of esthetic experience spanning the country from the Pacific Northwest to Charlotte, NC. After receiving and falling in love with her first facial in 2007, Meshelle left her career in Marketing and Advertising to pursue her new found passion in the art of Skin Care. Before her journey began with our team, Meshelle spent the past four years as a top rated esthetician at the luxurious Ballentyne Resort and Spa. Meshelle found Toccare after seeking a smaller more relationship based experience to have with her clientele. She brings a wealth of education to her clients and specializes in result driven facials by customized exfoliation techniques and addressing their problematic areas. While Meshelle is busy focusing on improving her clients concerns, they tout her as giving the most relaxing facial they have ever received.
Since I had some issues with dead skin cells congesting pores in a few areas, Meshelle suggested using a fine grain exfoliator twice a week, concentrating around the corners of my nose and on the left side of my face (which I sleep on) to prevent the pores from getting congested.
Since I was curious (and ever the content creator, eager to take some notes) I sat in on part of my sister’s facial to pick up some more skincare knowledge.

Why we are Oiler in our t-zone…
T zone produces more oils
Has larger pores
Hydrate to get everything out of the pores and get rid of congestion
Small circles one way and the other and get the dead skin cells out
Cleansing oil benefits…
Cleansing oil and it works better than other cleanser
After rinsing it off there’s nothing left behind but wonderfully hydrated skin
One of the things that factored into choosing Toccare for my first facial was the fact that they use organic products so everything used during your facial is free of artificial perfumes/fragrances. Also, since I’m just very careful about what I put on my skin, the products used at Toccare are free of parabens and sulfates which should be avoided in everything you use from skincare to haircare.
My sheet mask radar is always one and I’m definitely interested in trying these Organic Sheet Masks out. Plus, they are paragon, formaldehyde, alcohol, phthalate, sulfates, and fragrance free!
Curious about what goodie(s) I came home with? Out of the two exfoliating products that Meshelle recommended, I went with the Strawberry Rhubarb Dermafoliant with Lactic Acid by Eminence Organic Skin Care. It’s a finer grain and you can mix the powder with your daily cleanser.
For those of you who haven’t heard for Eminence… They are a skincare brand based in Hungary and they’ve been around since 1958. They only use organic ingredients without all of the additives you don’t want and they are cruelty free.
If you’re in Charlotte and looking for a location that both uses and carries green beauty products, Toccare is definitely the spa you need to check out.
