On Saturday we had the opportunity to check out the 3rd Annual Heart of the Home Kitchen Tour. You may recall that we went to the first ever kitchen tour back in 2014. (We missed last years.) This year the house tour took us from the Ballantyne area to South Park and finally the Dilworth/Eastover area of Charlotte. Each home had a different chef/restaurant showing off their culinary skills that really adds a nice touch to the tour. While I haven’t been able to enjoy the culinary treats on the past tours, there were a few items that I was able to enjoy on this one.
While there were no pictures allowed inside of the homes, it was nice to get some snaps of the outsides of the homes as well as the food available at each home.
I really enjoyed the area surrounding the third house, which was once the carriage house to the Morrocroft Manor. It’s now owned by a local Charlotte artist.
The next house, the home of professional chef/restauranteur featured a delicious pork tenderloin.
Pesto Chicken Salad and Dill Chicken Salad from Mayobird.
From the first bite of this hummus from Yafo Kitchen, we knew we had to visit the restaurant in the South Park area and give it official review. Best hummus ever!
If you live in Charlotte and enjoy spending time in the kitchen, you’ll definitely want to check out this tour next year. Currently tickets go for $25 in advance of the tour, and $30 if you purchase on the day of.
