As summer comes to an end next month (can you believe it?) I decided to put together a little guide of some of favorite things.
During the summer it’s nice to beat the heat with quick day trips to the mountains (with both Blowing Rock/Boone and Asheville are only a few hours away) or planning a last minute weekend getaway.
You can also just as easily enjoy some time at home or do a staycation at one of your favorite area spots. We have so many beautiful gardens and hidden parks nearby where you can spend a few hours relaxing on a bench or a swing…
— Sunglasses —
Sunglasses are a summertime essential and I just found some new sunnies from GlassesShop. I’ve always had a thing for tortoise shell and they have a variety of beautiful sunglasses to choose from depending on what you’re looking for. Since I like cateye sunglasses, I found two color ways (Sandra and Sherry) that really blended with my summer wardrobe. Plus, they don’t have just sunglasses, you can also get prescription eyeglasses and with an eye appointment coming up this week, it’s not too soon to start looking.
One of the things I liked about the sunglasses from GlassesShop, was the fact that each pair comes in it’s own decorative case with a cleaning cloth inside, so you never have to worry about your sunglasses being smudged when you’re out and about.
— Books —
While there have been so many good books coming out this summer, one of the books on my list that I haven’t read yet, is The French Ingredient. You can check out my list of Everything I Read in July, and keep an eye out the August list coming your way later this month.
— Candles —
If you’re having a staycation having a nice candle to light by the bathtub just adds a little extra TLC to the whole experience. Lavender & Eucalyptus or Lavender Rosemary are always a go-to for me.
— Skincare —
While I admit I’ve been a bit lax in my daily skincare routine this summer, I had to include two of my favorite products from Biossance. Both the eye cream and the moisturizing gel have been real game changers when it comes to keeping my skin hydrated and my under eye circles at bay.
