The Shain Gallery has long been one of our favorite art galleries, located between Nolen’s Kitchen and Reid’s Market on Selwyn Ave. this gallery is a perfect way to spend a Friday evening. Throughout the year, the gallery hosts art openings either solo or with a group of artists that the gallery works with.

For the first Friday of April, the gallery hosted a show featuring the works of Laura Lloyd Fontaine (one of our favorite Charleston artists) and Arless Day.

What I so enjoy about Laura Lloyd Fontaine, is that her paintings are so serene, and she really brings the beauty of the water ways of Charleston to life.

This one was my favorite…

This art opening also introduced us to artist Arless Day whose pieces fall under the gouache collage category of art. Arless, born in Louisiana makes his home in Raleigh along with his wife Patsy, who he met in art school.
