“Three years ago, Raffaele and I started Mano Bella Artisan Foods from our kitchen, making fresh pasta and other Italian goods for their friends and family. After three years of early mornings at the farmer’s markets, late nights in the kitchen, and an endless amount of love and support from the community, we have accomplished the goal we had set out to achieve from the very beginning. We will open our first full-service restaurant in the South Park area of Charlotte sometime in the beginning of 2024. We couldn’t be more humbled by the prospect of serving a new part of Charlotte and excited for this journey as we share authentic, artisanal Italian foods with this community and beyond.” — Madison and Raffaele Patrizi | Mano Bella
A new Italian eatery and market has opened in SouthPark’s Morrison Place shops. Just a few doors down from the ANFA Gallery, you can enjoy delicious handmade pasta and products created in-house and sourced from Italy. Whether you’re looking to sit down and enjoy a meal (I highly recommend this if you have the time) or want to pick up something to go, or pick up some of their prepared foods, you can’t go wrong. Owners Madison and Raffaele Patrizi have brought something special to the SouthPark area and I look forward to visiting again soon.
Starting the meal with one of the antipasti options on the menu is a must. We went with the bread service that includes the most amazing Foccacia made in-house (of course) and olive oil for dipping. This bread is so both light and flavorful.
While we chose to order off the menu for our first visit to Mano Bella, you also have the option of building a pasta bowl with your choice of pasta, sauce and toppings.
If there’s gnocchi on the menu, you know I have to try it. The Gnocchi Al Tartufo features artisanal gnocchi topped with goat cheese sauce, truffle, and focaccia gremolata. It was rich without being overpowering and the goat cheese sauce was the ideal accompaniment.
The Ricotta Tortelloni featured tortelloni stuffed ricotta and arugula topped with lemon butter, almonds and sage. My mom adores tortelloni and this dish was light and delicious.
A visit to the market and picking up something sweet to go is a must after any meal at Mano Bella. They have dried pasta made in-house, olive oil on tap, risotto mixes perfect for weeknight dinners, and more. We had to pick up some more focaccia and some of the Amaretti sugar cookies. (So good!)
