This navy dress from Boden was the perfect dress to wear while exploring the Daniel Stowe Botanical Gardens. I’ve always loved navy whether it’s a solid navy, stripe, or floral print and it’s those pieces I tend to wear frequently. This Notched Neck Flutter Sleeve Dress is one of my favorite new additions to my spring/summer wardrobe which needed a little refreshing.
It’s hard finding a dress in longer lengths that don’t require hemming or have to be worn with heels, and this dress works well with my flat sandals just as well as a pair of wedge espadrilles. I paired my look with my favorite Katie Loxton Woven bag and dressed it up a bit with the blue and white floral Hidden Garden scarf from Sarah Flint. I love using the larger version of the scarf to zhuzh my handbags, while the smaller size is perfect for tying at the neck or wrist depending on what jewelry you’re going with for a particular look.
I kept my jewelry simple with the snaffle chain necklace (also from Boden) that is such a versatile piece, my oval hoop earrings, and the Corda fine friendship bracelet that I continue to pair with so many of my outfits since I first picked it up last year.
Future gardener or archeologist?
I have a feeling that when she grows up Miss Cecileia is going to help us out in the garden. Daniel Stowe has a children’s garden, which features this spot for playing in the dirt with various gardening tools. Cecileia enjoyed herself so much that she didn’t want to leave and her dad stayed with her while we continued on through the garden with my sister, mom, and Charlotte.

This little spot located in the children’s garden is a must on warmer spring and summer days, with views of the children’s garden and the amphitheater. If you’re visiting with littles, it’s fun to have them search for The Moon Keep Door (below).
Miss Charlotte loved sitting amongst the Irises in her bee outfit, and she shared her sister’s love for digging in the dirt. Isn’t her romper just the sweetness thing?
The Orchid Observatory just off to the side of the main building had the most brilliant blooms. The flowers seem to be blooming later this year, so it was nice to see all of the different flowers, orchids, and tropical plants. We also spotted a few ferns and ground cover plants (like the creeping fig) that we decided to add to our ever-growing fairy garden.
