This close up featuring a gorgeous Pink Ranunculous Blossom has to be one of my favorite ‘close ups’ from the book. Not only is it pink (one of my favorite colors) but it’s also one of my favorite flowers as well.

Sezane has one of the dreamiest storefronts in the city. Don’t you agree?

A Word from the Author:
When I first conceived Paris in Bloom, I always envisioned it as the first in a series of “Cities in Bloom” blooms. The floral wonders and motifs of New York City might not come to mind as easily as those found in Paris, or London, but my love for the sheer magnificence of the city inspired me to create this volume and place it firmly in its rightful place in the series.
My language is flowers and thus I set out to discover where in the vast metropolis that language was spoken most eloquently – among the parks and gardens, avenues and alleys, markets and bodegas, soaring architectural wonders and gritty streets. And the most I looked the more I found, and strived to capture what to me is the floral essence of the city, a perhaps unexpected viewpoint that I hoped will be, for visitors and residents alike, a source of delight and pride.
