While many people try to make Halloween synonymous with the fall season… I have always believed in celebrating the fall season from the moment it begins in September until after the Thanksgiving holiday. After all, Halloween is JUST ONE DAY, not the whole of the fall season. (I also take into account that I’m an October baby, and I would rather have fall leaf decor and tasteful pumpkins, etc, than skeletons and ghouls all of my birthday month.) So let Fall be Fall!

Since I had my birthday, the weekend, and Monday off from work, we decided to make an early weekend of it and do some of my favorite things. I shared about a bookstore in Hickory on the blog earlier in the week, My Chapter House. It has been on my list of places to visit for months, so my birthday felt like the perfect day to take a drive up to see it. IT WAS SO WORTH IT. Absolutely enchanting, and they still had some things left from the Gilmore Girls day they had a few weeks back.

On Saturday, I had a quick (well, it wasn’t quick) eye appointment b/c I have NOT been seeing well for the past few months, and after that, we had lunch at The Bowl (at Rooster’s), which was in the midst of preparing for a concern at the amphitheater, and I picked up the most delicious Apple Crumble Donut (vegan of course) from the newest location of The Salty. (They also have one in Southend CLT, which I haven’t been to yet)

Now for this weekend’s list of must-read posts, recipes, and style finds…

It’s cozy season, so it’s time to start baking more, even if it does end up being later in the evenings… with nursing school and all… This Pear Frangipane Tart looks delicious, doesn’t it?

Get cozy in Herringbone with ChappyWrap’s fall-inspired collection of blankets.

Masala Chai Snickerdoodles. Oh. My. Word!

I love these two flowy tops from LOFT: the Floral Blouson Sleeve Split Neck Blouse and the Garden Pintucked Ruffle Mixed Media Blouse, both in varying shades of green, are speaking my language… I also add a cozy sweater or two to my collection each season, and the V-necked sweater is perfect for wearing on its own or layering once the weather turns cooler.

Baked Cinnamon Apple Butter French Toast. Hungry yet?

The Essential Peanuts by Charles Shultz is a must purchase for any Peanuts or Snoopy enthusiast.

Don’t even get me started on this Merino Wool Duster… I know I’m much too short for dusters, but a girl can dream… and make suggestions to those less height-challenged.

I already have the Black Lavender Tea from Smith Teamaker, so I’m going to have to make this Black Lavender Fog.

This Signature V-Neck Dress (Madewell) would look amazing on its own, or paired with this jean jacket and necklace, also from Madewell.

Pumpkin Snickerdoodle Blondies. Ooh, girl!

How CUTE is Louie the Mouse (Anthropologie) for your gallery wall, or bookshelf?

I adore a mushroom risotto this time of year.
