Gauzy dresses are a must during a Southern summer, with the combination of heat and the stickiness of the humidity that comes along with it, having breathable pieces that you can wear both on the weekend and into the office are essential. Given my aforementioned love of stripes, it wasn’t surprising that I immediately fell in love with this dress with its tiered silhouette and v neck details.
I opted to go with statement earrings and bracelets versus a necklace for this particular look, having worn my Kiki Earrings from the Charleston, SC-based boutique, The Tiny Tassel the last time I ventured into a garden. The Tiny Tassel was founded by Mimi Shrimpton, and you’ll no doubt read more about my favorite pieces from the shop here on the blog soon, and she recently did a collaboration with Charlotte-based artist Evelyn Henson who has also created colorful murals throughout the Charlotte area.
I found the pearl and gold bracelet at one of the locations of Spartina 449 in Hilton Head and I find that it really pairs well with the more delicate bracelet from Gorjana. Also, don’t you just love the lavender blooms on this tree? I first spotted this particular set of trees on my way home from work a few weeks ago, and immediately decided why not drive back up the garden for a little photoshoot. This particular memorial garden for veterans is located just up the street from where we live, and we always see the garden club hard at work carrying for the flowers and replacing the annuals each season.
