My favorite style finds are outfits that can be dressed up or down depending on how you accessorize. This past weekend, while looking through my closet for something to wear for our trip up to Greenville I just couldn’t decide on the perfect outfit. I had my trusty navy & white maxi that would pair well with the accessories that I wanted to wear for our day around the city, but I’d worn the outfit so often I knew that I needed to go for something else… the perfect navy dress.
Last year I found the perfect little lace cap sleeve swing dress at LOFT which I’d only worn a few times and never shared about either here on the blog or Instagram, and as luck would have it (for those of you who are looking for the perfect navy dress too) Loft has come up with a similar option this season. Since it’s a knit dress, it’s very comfortable for both the driving and walking around whatever city you’re visiting, and with the lace sleeves it’s perfect for dining out with family or friends (ie our lunch with my sister and her husband Mike at Jianna’s.)
While the dress can be easily dressed up or down, I decided to go for a more ‘it’s the weekend’ look with wedges I’d picked up from J.Crew last year, a hat to offer some shade while we walked around the city, and my favorite straw tote that I recently picked up from LOFT.
Before lunch we decided to check out Fall’s Park which is conveniently located just across the street from Jianna’s, to stretch our legs a bit and take a few pictures while we waited for my sister and her husband to arrive in town. (We would be following them up to their new townhouse in Clemson later that afternoon and staying through till Sunday.)
Falls Park (for those of you not familiar with the Greenville area) is an absolutely gorgeous park that anyone visiting the city should check out as part of your visit. I loved seeing everything so green and in bloom, and it was so refreshing to get a breath of fresh (albeit slightly humid) air after spending a few hours on the road. There are plenty of places in the park to take a break and relax, and there is a cute little bistro at the front of the park if you need a little refreshment after your walk or bike ride.
Outfit Details: Dress: Lace Cap Sleeve Swing Dress (Loft), Bag: Woven Handle Straw Tote (Loft) Shoes: J. Crew (old, similar here), Earrings: Bar Pull Through Earrings (Loft) Hat: Ribbon Straw Fedora (old, similar here)
We enjoyed our time in Falls Park so much that we’re already planning to return for another walk/photoshoot once things cool down in the fall. In fact we even have our lunch destination all picked out. I can almost taste the salmon and pear salad now. Yum!
