July is National Picnic Month and for good reason. The weather is warmer, and with many of us taking a little time off, it’s perfect for putting together some delicious snacks, packable sandwiches, drinks, and flowers. Since the July 4th weekend gave us all an extra day off, we picked up some of our favorite things from nearby markets, found the most beautiful bunch of hydrangeas, and packed it all up in the back of my tricycle along with my Luncher from Modern Picnic.
While my tricycle came with a wire basket for the front too, I opted to get this Nantucket-esque basket (currently unavailable) that can be strapped to your handlebars as well as a fan with three speeds because it’s both hot and humid here in the South and I don’t want that to be my excuse for not going on a bike ride.
The Luncher (above) can hold quite a few things, but if you like to have even more space and a bag that can serve as both a lunch bag and your purse, then The Large Luncher is definitely the way to go. With its insulated interior, it’s the perfect option to keep all of the cold things cold until you’re ready to enjoy them.
What to pack for your summer picnic…
San Pellegrino Blood Orange and Orange Blossom Italian Sparkling Water
Bottled Water
Baguette
Assorted snacks (Paul & Pippa’s Parmesan Crackers, Dark Chocolate Coconut Chews, Gluten-Free Everything Crackers)
In the Modern Picnic Luncher
Assorted cheeses, meats, and berries (or) freshly made sandwiches/potato salad
Now we’re off on the walking trail to find a perfect spot for our picnic.
The walking trail is my favorite place to ride my tricycle. Our walking trail takes us through quite a bit of the lakeside city I live in, with views of the various neighborhoods, parks, golf courses, and more that lead you up some pretty steep hills and some refreshing downhills that allow you to coast a bit and enjoy the breeze.
