Ever since I had the amazing opportunity to interview artist/studio mates, Marcy Gregg and Adrian Chu Redmond, I’ve been looking forward to going to one of the Open Houses at the Dilworth Artisan Station. The factory turned art studio, has three floors filled with artist studio’s and a few times a year they have a open house where you can meet the artists and see their latest pieces. Plus it makes an excellent ending for your Southend Gallery crawl that occurs the first Friday of every month.
We started at the artist spaces on the first floor which included work from the student/artists.
Next we climbed two flights of rather precarious/steep stairs (next time we’ll definitely take the stairs at the front of the building instead) to the second floor…
I loved the color palette’s of Jean Rupprecht’s pieces.
Charlotte artist Jean Rupprecht paints both Plein Air and in the studio. Since childhood, her love of painting and drawing has given her the foundation needed to pursue her passion for oil painting. Whether traveling or at home in beautiful North Carolina, where she lives with her husband and three active teenagers, she pursues art full time. – Jean Rupprecht
