During the summer I decided to start growing out my hair. After several hair cuts where my hair was cut a little too short for my face shape, I decided to start growing out my hair to find what length I like best. No matter if you’re currently growing out your hair or you want to keep your locks looking their best, I’ve tried out a few hair products recently (including the Necessaire Hair Care Duo) that have helped to keep my hair looking healthy, hydrated, and even helped prevent hair breakage!
AcuBrusher 2.0
Uffy
When it comes to hair care, having the right brush is absolutely essential. Since my hair loves to tangle when I wash it (and when I wake up with a serious case of bedhead), having a wide-tooth hairbrush that gets those tangles out without breaking off my hair is very important to me. So, when Uffy reached out to me about trying out their new AcuBrusher 2.0 I couldn’t say “yes” fast enough.
From the moment the brush arrived, I was absolutely obsessed. From the design and the color options (I went with sky blue) to how wonderful the brush feels as it massages your scalp while you brush, there are so many things to love about this brush.
The bristles are made with 24K gold plated copper and it also helps reduce static that can be so annoying when you’re trying to get ready in the morning.
Hair Mask
Function of Beauty
I’ve tried out the custom shampoos from Function of Beauty before, and since I needed a hair mask that was fragrance-free, I opted to take their hair quiz to create my own custom hair mask based on my needs. My 5 haircare goals are: anti-frizz, color protection, hydrate, replenish hair, and strengthening. This mask is meant to be used either once a week, or twice a month depending on your individual hair needs. It’s important to remember to keep this mask away from your scalp, using it only on the bottom two-thirds of your hair. I apply this mask as directed (following shampoo and conditioner) and leave it in my hair for 3-5 minutes.
Skin-Caring Magic Serum
SEEN
I’ve been a long-time advocate of letting your hair air dry. It’s better for your hair and you’ll see a lot less breakage and heat damage if only use a hairdryer for special occasions. During a recent trip to the salon for a blowout, my stylist was SHOCKED that I wasn’t using a heat protectant on a daily basis. When using heat tools, even on a lower setting, it’s important to remember that your hair needs a little extra protection. After a considerable amount of searching and reading of reviews, I finally settled on the Magic Serum from SEEN.
SEEN creates hair care that is skin-approved, as many of the hair care products can actually cause skin issues from acne and irritation to scalp issues. This female-founded company features luxury, clean, vegan hair care that not only benefits your hair but your skin as well.
The serum can be applied to your hair when it’s damp or dry and you can use the recommended 2-3 drops or more if your hair is thicker/longer.
