Are you ready to add two skincare masks your skincare collection? I have been hearing so many good things about the masks from Honest Beauty (founded by Jessica Alba) so I decided to try them both out along with the Konjac Sponge. Both masks have their own benefits and I’m sharing my favorite aspects of each in today post.
Gentle Konjac Sponge
I loved the idea of using this gentle konjac sponge instead of a washcloth. It’s so easy to use, just soak the sponge in water until it softens and squeeze out excess moisture. You can use this sponge (which is made from konjac root and pink kaolin clay) either on it’s own or with a cleanser to gently exfoliate your face. Once you’re done, just hang the sponge by the white looped thread in a cool ventilated area.
I also used the sponge to remove both masks it makes it so much easier, especially when previously I would have used an Olay Wipe or a damp makeup round to remove masks.
Priming & Moisturizing Face Mask
During the winter months keeping our skin looking dewy can be a challenge, so if you’re need of a quick pick me up, the priming & moisturizing mask from Honest Beauty only needs to be on your skin for 5-10 minutes before you can remove it with warm water. (However, if you have more time on your hands you can leave the mask on for up to 30 minutes, making it an ideal choice for a girls spa day in!)
The mask is made with Shea Butter (to moisturize and nourish dry skin), Vitamin E (an antioxidant that both nourishes sand replenishes the skins delicate balance, and super-fruits (that help revive stressed, tired skin.)
Once you’ve removed the mask you can continue with your usual skincare routine.
3-in-1 Detox Mud Face Mask with Activated Charcoal
Since I’ve been noticing my pores a bit more lately, so I was very excited about trying out Honest Beauty’s 3-in-1 Detox Mud Face Mask with Activated Charcoal. I’ve used charcoal masks before, but I loved that this mask features conditioners like Manuka honey and shea butter that add some much needed moisture back into your skin.
This mask is perfect for oily, dry and sensitive skin types (I fall into the sensitive skin category) and I just love the creamy texture of this mask and how it removes any dead skin cells and impurities as well as minimizing my pores.
To use this mask just apply a thin even layer in circular motions, avoiding the eye area (if you have issues with getting too close to your eyes, putting an under eye mask is a good idea!) and leave on for 10-15 minutes. Rinse with warm water and pat try. This mask can be used one to two times a week, so it’s ideal for a Sunday afternoon mask and then a mid week pick me up!
