Blood Orange is one of my all-time favorites when it comes to citrus and San Pellegrino has the most delicious Blood Orange Sparkling Drink that we like to keep stocked in our pantry at all times. It’s delicious when paired with a charcuterie board, a pasta dish, or just on its own for a little afternoon refreshment.
Aranciata Rossa (aka Blood Orange) is one of three citrus sparkling beverages (along with Aranciata and Limonata) and is made with oranges and blood oranges from Italy. Oranges like other fruits and vegetables take on the flavors of the area in which they are grown, and I like to picture myself sitting in a restaurant in Positano every time I take a sip of this delicious beverage. The flavor is the perfect balance between sweet and the tart flavor you’d expect from a citrus-based beverage, and we like to chill our San Pellegrino overnight to bring out the best flavors and serve over freshly made ice cubes.
While you can pair this beverage with a sprig or two of rosemary for a more savory flavor, we went with slices of blood orange (available at your grocery store) and sprigs of fresh mint which really added to the flavor profile without overpowering it.
