This week has been one for the books and we made some serious headway on the gardening front. Since last weekend I’ve put out 28 bags of topsoil, planted 4 Alliums, 5 Platinum Blonde Lavender plants, 4 Blue Bacopas, and 6 Salvias.
We’ve more than doubled the size of our butterfly garden (located in the backyard at the top of a hill leading to the forest between our house and the neighbors behind us.) Added more Irish moss and two creeping fig vines to our Fairy Garden and six new Spanish lavender plants to our hillside of lavender beside the deck.
I also found the most magical sounded windchime and a birdbath that we’re going to get set up over the weekend before the rainy weather arrives. Each of our gardens has a unique personality, and since we’ve planted mostly perennials (with a few exceptions) I’m looking forward to seeing our plants coming back from year to year.
While spending time out in the garden is definitely hard work and time-consuming, I’m looking forward to seeing how everything looks when we’re finished (and perhaps giving that promised tour on Instagram!)
