Are you ready for another seriously easy sandwich to whip up for lunch (if you’re working from home) or on the weekend?! Since I’ve already mentioned how much we love pears, I thought, why not make a sandwich featuring Anjou pears, which is one of our favorite varieties. You could also use Asian Pears, Bosc, or cute little Seckle Pears that we found at our local grocery store (although I would read up on those first to know for sure when they’re fully ripe!)
Since the summer when we first started making sandwiches with spreadable goat cheese (Elevate Your Morning Toast and Spiced White Peaches with Spreadable CHEVOO) I’ve loved the idea of using goat cheese (versus cream cheese) to add a savory flavor to balance the sweetness of some of our favorite seasonable fruits.
Plus, these sandwiches are ridiculously easy to make and this particular quick recipe only needs five ingredients!
Open Faced Anjou Pear & CHEVOO Sandwiches
— Ingredients —
1 Anjou Pear (thinly sliced)
1 container of spreadable goat cheese (we used country herb & garlic from CHEVOO)
2 slices of bread (toasted and cut diagonally)
Honey
Herbs de Provence (optional)
— Assembly —
To assemble your sandwiches, spread each slice liberally with spreadable goat cheese, add pear slices, sprinkle with your herb of choice and finish them off with a drizzle of honey.
