Pizzeria Omaggio had been on my list of restaurants to try for ages, so I was so happy that we woke up last Saturday and decided to go. (Don’t you love those spontaneous ideas that just smack you on the forehead as soon as you wake up?)
Located in the Midtown Charlotte’s Metropolitan shopping area, this Pizzeria is the epitome the neighborhood Italian restaurant you love to visit.
The waitress told us about the most amazing pizza which incorporated fresh zucchini blossoms which we’ve been trying to grow in our own little herb garden. Despite all of the delicious items on the menu we’d just had pizza the night before, so we decided to go with another choice of entree.
To start off our meal we decided on the Bruschetta which ended up being literally the most delicious bruschetta that we’ve ever had to date. We were in culinary heaven from the first bite.
For my entree I went with the Spaghetti Pomodoro. I always like to try this dish at any Italian restaurant we try out. The pomodoro was deliciously fresh, and the garlic rolls that accompanied it were just as scrumptious as they looked.
Mum went with the Arugula Salad with pears, caramelized walnuts, cranberries, balsamic glaze and shaved parmigiano reggiano. Doesn’t it just look oh, so delish?
Stay tuned for our next visit where we’ll try out some of their delicious made from scratch pizzas, and perhaps a few items of their delectable dessert menu. Limoncello Sorbet anyone?
