What’s the perfect thing to serve on a spa day? I think you probably already know my answer to that question… Charcuterie of course! Every five to six weeks we take an afternoon to do pedicures at home (while it’s still a struggle to do my own nails from time to time, I’ve really improved at doing my mom’s nails!) and I thought why not make it a spa day with face masks, eye masks and all the other spa accoutrements.
The day before we stopped by a few of our favorite markets to pick up some of the essentials we needed to restock (ie the most delicious Genoa Salami, fresh fruit, crackers and the last nuts I would be eating for quite awhile.) We also found the cutest Vanilla Bean Mini Cupcakes from Fresh Market.
When creating a charcuterie board, you don’t always have to have a marble, wood platter to create your board. When we created a charcuterie for two (coming to the blog next week) we used a long plate we ordered from CB2 and for our spa day we used this Provence plate that I picked up from Sur la Table several years back. For serving our cheese we have our favorite cheese set from Williams-Sonoma and cloth napkins from Pottery Barn.
Styling our spa day treats we every bit as fun as putting together the charcuterie board, and my mom is really honing her skills on creating salami flowers.
