Whether you like the term ‘self-care’ or not, everyone needs a little TLC to get through the stresses of life in general. Since I’m working by 8-5 during the week, I like to spend a Saturday every five weeks or so that is dedicated to some of our favorite self-care activities. While your idea of self-care may vary (perhaps you like going on a run or taking part in a yoga or kick boxing class) I thought I’d share some of the ways we enjoy spending our self-care days.
Brunch
More and more restaurants are offering brunch on both Saturdays and Sundays, so we like to check out one of our favorites or discover a new one. This past Saturday we chose to enjoy brunch at the Gallery Restaurant in the newly renovated Ballantyne Hotel.
Get your eyebrows threaded
While I don’t have particularly thick eyebrows, I like to get my eyebrows threaded every 4 months. It usually takes about that long to get to the stage where they need some shaping but haven’t gotten out of control yet. My favorite place to get my brows threaded, Wow Brows is located just up the street from the Ballantyne Hotel and there’s no appointment needed because you’re in and out of there in minutes.
Grab a Bubble Tea
Since our first discover of the QC Tea Bar in the Spring, I tend to pop in most weekends for their Peach Milk Tea with Tapioca Boba. I love that not only is their Milk Tea dairy-free, but you can also choose how sweet you want it. Since I’m not into overly sweet things, I always go for the 25% sweet.
Get a Pedicure and/or Manicure
Once we’ve picked up our bubble tea it’s time to head over to Dolce Lusso in Baxter Village. This is THE spot to get a pedicure or manicure if you’re in the Tega Cay/Fort Mill area and we always get their signature pedicures which includes a massage and hot towel wrap that’s perfect when the weather is chilly out. This time around I decided to be a little ‘festive’ with my nail polish choice and went with a gold polish from their Nutcracker Collection.
Pick out a hand-selected box of truffles
The Chocolat Boutique, our favorite local chocolatier is just across the street from Dolce Lusso and is always the perfect way to end every self-care day. You can choose from their delicious selection truffles which include both milk and dark chocolate and they’ll even wrap it up with ribbon for you. It’s alway a good way to end your day with something delicious!
