You’ve no doubt heard the phrase ‘the shoes make the outfit’, and when I was deciding on what shoes to pair with my vintage inspired yellow floral look, I immediately thought of The City Sandal from Margaux. The shoes have the perfect vintage vibe to pair with my look that is an ode to the floral dresses with the full skirts that were so popular in the 1950’s.
We had been thinking about visiting the Daniel Stowe Botanical Gardens once the weather warmed up, and Easter Sunday proved to be the perfect opportunity to take a stroll through the gardens, and sit on one of the obliging benches that are scattered throughout the garden to enjoy the fresh air and abundant sunshine. For those of you familiar with the gardens located in Belmont, North Carolina it’s important to wear comfortable shoes, and The City Sandal was the perfect shoe choice.
While this dress is obviously not an everyday dress, it worked out perfectly for Easter and would be ideal for any outdoor spring and summer events that you might be venturing out to this year. The dress is from JessaKae and is available in blue, pink and yellow floral pattern, and I recommend sizing up if you have a bust. I normally go for a XS, but I’m wearing a size S.
I paired my look with vintage pearls that I’ve been borrowing from my mom for the past few years (after all every fashionable woman needs a pair of pearls in her jewelry collection), simple pearl earrings, a pair of vintage-esque cat eye sunglasses from Anthropologie and one of my favorite sunhats from Tuckernuck.

About The City Sandal
No matter what your plans are for the day, The City Sandal has just the right height for walking around in absolute comfort. The shoe features an embossed calf leather upper and leather lining, 5mm of plush foam padding for added comfort and with the 2.5 inch heel, it gives you just the right amount of height.
Sizing
As far as fit I found that my normal size (6 US/36 EU) in Medium fit true to size but it’s worth asking one of the shoe experts that are available in the chat box (or scheduling a virtual appointment) to make sure you’re ordering the correct size for you. Also, with free shipping and returns you don’t have to worry about it if the fit isn’t perfect, just sent them back and order another size!
