On the most recent Winghaven Gardeners Tour, we were invited into the gardens of four Charlotte-area homes. Both the Eastover and Myers Park areas, which continue to be my favorite features, have homes with hidden and sometimes not-so-hidden gardens that you could spend hours savoring.
This home, which was built in 1959 by the Cannon family, is currently owned by Celene and Marc Oken. Since moving into the house in 2005, which sits on a large lot in the Eastover neighborhood, just steps away from the Mint Museum (Randolph), the property features both architectural inspiration and beautiful grounds, including boxwood, camellia, gardenia, prostrate plum yew, and lenten roses.

I loved this corridor leading to the back of the house.

Little details, not to be missed.

We adore our deck herb garden, and seeing this much larger herb garden was an inspiration.
