I just love the title that popped into my head when I was brain-storming for the first drink of 2021. The drink itself is pretty basic (a twist on the classic mimosa) but it seemed like the ideal drink to start off my drink series for this year, and it paired really well with the spring charcuterie board that I will be sharing with you all next week.
It’s a 3 ingredient drink (with the option of adding orange slices) and if you’re feeling really fancy (and can remember to make your ice cubes the night before) then halved kumquats make the perfect addition to your ice cubes!
Making these drinks was the perfect way to use the Gold Bee Tumbler Glasses that I picked up from William-Sonoma last month. My mom and I both have an obsession with all things bee, and I thought why not start picking up sets of glasses to feature in the drink series? You can order them (or pick up in store) as single glasses or as a set of four depending on whether you’re just planning on making drinks for two, or you want to use them for a luncheon or dinner party, socially distant of course!
The Bee Stir Sticks aren’t available (we picked them up several years back) but I love these Marble & Brass Bee Cocktail Picks if you decide to add an orange slice or two for an extra splash of color and flavor.
While we didn’t have any fresh thyme in our herb garden, let me tell you can hardly wait to start picking out fresh herbs to plant, I found some organic fresh thyme at our local grocery store to add to our drinks. Note: Always remember to wash your herbs etc before you use them in any of your drinks or culinary dishes!
