On the weekends I like to keep things cozy, and this outfit is so incredibly cozy whether you’re just running a few errands, or to just take a break and take a walk. Like during the spring and summer months, we really enjoy walking through the neighborhoods in nearby Baxter Village. It’s just about a 5 minute drive from where we live, and we can pop through the Starbucks drive thru and order whatever tea we’re enjoying craving (I’m an Iced Venti Soy Chai Tea Latte girl regardless of the season!) before finding a nice spot to park by some of our favorite houses.
I just love the close knit layout and the design of the homes (and while I was hoping to see a few homes decked out for the holidays, it seems we’ll have to wait for a few more weeks to get into the holiday spirit!) Question… Do you find yourself wanting to decorate the house earlier this year with the pandemic etc? While we are still keeping our decor decidedly fall, I couldn’t have been more excited when the handprinted ceramic nutcracker arrived from LO Home. He’s already displayed above my desk, and I definitely have twinkle lights on the brain.
The Look
Can I just say how much I love this cozy Cotton Blend Pullover Sweater? The cowl neckline of this pullover gives the feeling of a chunky scarf, and the thumb-holes in the sleeves are very convenient especially when you need to wear a coat and you don’t want to worry about the sleeves of you sweater bunching up.
While my sweater (like many of those I’ve been wearing so far this fall) comes from Stitch Fix (by Market & Spruce) I’ve found several similar chunky knit sweaters from brands that I know and love ( here, here and here) You can never have to many cozy sweaters, and I just bringing out some of my favorites to keep me warm and cozy.
I paired my sweater with my favorite American Eagle jeans. I’ve said it so many times about how perfectly the jeans from American Eagle fit me. Since I’m 5’3″ I get the ‘short’ version but there’s also an extra-short version as well. You could pair a boot-cut jean with this look, but the details on the booties were just too cute to hide.
The Accessories
I’ve loved berets since I was a little girl (I guess you could say that my love of all things French started very early on) and now with the ever popular ‘French Girl Style’ and the recent Netflix release of Emily in Paris (which you either like or you don’t… but I definitely enjoyed it!) I’m definitely seeing a lot of berets when I’m out and about.
My grey beret which I picked up from Topshop last year is still available in a variety of colors, and they’re at a budget friendly price point so I’d definitely get a few in your favorite colors! My sunglasses are the Mika Cat-Eye Sunglasses from Anthropologie and this look definitely deserves a long necklace so I went with my locket by Spartina 449.
The Shoes
I absolutely adore these grey booties that I picked up from Stitch Fix by Violet & Red. They are beyond comfortable and give me just the right amount of added height. You can check out similar versions here and here, or you can also search on Poshmark for Violet & Red Booties!
